The robber suffers severe blood loss and dies soon after being shot in the neck. He stays in the fights for a while before he dies, with his gun malfunctioning which saves the life of the guard.
Even when suffering fatal wounds, people can remain a deadly threat.

The guard can be seen holding another rifle which has no magazine. He renders the weapon safe after retrieving it. He later returned the guns to police.
Rather than reaching for the knife when it is drawn as many people tend to do, this security guard punches the man, and as they go to the ground he and controls the hand holding the knife. He extends the hand away from the body which prevents the man from reaching for it with the other hand. Bystanders step in and assist. Excellent instincts.
Belligerent man attempts to intimidate couple, pushing a female in the process. He seems to regret this a split second later as he reaches to hold and prevent her from falling.
Unfortunately he has already failed miserably to take stock of the situation he is in – alone, drunk, surrounded by bystanders who may not tolerate his behaviour.
Two men argue with two security guards. Another guard grabs one of the men around the neck from behind. As the other man looks back and is distracted, a security guard standing in front of him punches.
The guards flanked and overwhelmed the two men. Human only have eyes in one side of their head, and a split second of distraction is all that is needed to land a punch undefended.
