San Diego cop shoots hostage taker in the face at close range
Hostage taker had already shot 4 people including his ex wife, her parents, and her grandfather. Both of her parents were killed in the shooting. In this video he is holding his injured ex wife hostage.
Risky action by the police offer as he shot at a target barely inches from the hostage’s head, however at this stage a contain and negotiate approach would most likely have only caused the situation to deteriorate.
Dallas cop pinned, flanked and killed by gunman
Gunman pins the cop behind a pillar with fire to the left side while circling right to flank and shoot the cop in the back.
When more police arrive he recognises the need to disengage and look for a better position. Unfortunately his tactics and skills were excellent.

ISIS ambush and kill US Special Forces in Niger – video from US perspective
The Tongo Tongo Ambush
The Tongo Tongo ambush or the Niger ambush occurred on 4 October 2017, when armed militants from the Islamic State in the Greater Sahara (ISGS) attacked Nigerien and US soldiers outside the village of Tongo Tongo, Niger, while they were returning to base after a stop in the village. During the ambush, four Nigeriens, four US soldiers, and at least 21 ISGS militants were killed, and eight Nigeriens and two US soldiers including the team commander were wounded. In the day preceding the ambush, the Nigerien and US soldiers conducted a mission attempting to locate and capture or kill Doundou Chefou, a commander in the ISGS.
The ambush sparked political debate over the presence of US forces in Africa and brought attention to previously under-reported US military activities in the region. The ambush also prompted congressional inquiries, and an investigation by the US Department of Defense (DoD). The DoD inquiry, completed in 2018, found that the 11-member US special forces team was not prepared for the mission, and identified other flaws in planning.
The ambush remains the largest loss of American lives in combat in Africa since the Battle of Mogadishu in 1993.

Mugger counter-ambushed
Victim perfectly distracts mugger by dropping wallet, hiding his draw by stepping around another person and drawing from the hidden side without making any sudden or aggressive movements to indicate that he may put up a fight.
Handcuffed man paralyses cop
Handcuffed people are still dangerous.
Ideal Taser deployment
Taser is fired into back of suspect. Police move in quickly to gain control.
Hoodie pulled over head to control assailant
A fairly inept man drops his knife and is controlled effectively when this woman pulls his hoodie over his head. This gives her handles to control his posture, obstructs his vision and limits the mobility of his arms at the same time.
Bystander assists cop when knife search turns into struggle
Suspect attempts to flee when a police officer searches him. As the struggle begins, a large knife can be seen tucked in to the rear of his belt. The knife falls to the ground as he escapes the grip of the cop. As the cop again grabs the suspect and pulls him to the ground, a bystander who apparently has some training in grappling assists by controlling the legs of the suspect. The bystander then transitions to a rear naked choke which effectively restrains the suspect who stops resisting.
Grapple for knife successful, no injuries
Knife is taken from offender successfully with no apparent injuries (possible injury to offender’s hands) – a rare incident.
